It is produced by solid steel bar which is quenched and tempered to a very high tensile strength and hardness.  So it is extremely tough and durable.

    How much does a barbell bar weigh? It depends on the steel material grade, steel bar tensile strength and barbell bar size.

    . Olympic barbell bar steel material grade: Weightlifting Barbell Bar can be produce with steel grades carbon steel, alloy steel and spring steel. In general, spring steel is the best material because the weilifting bar need good elasticity.
