ISO grade 8.8 is one kind of quenched and tempered steel grade in ISO 898 standard which is similar to US grades 5 and B7. ISO898 grade 8.8 Threaded Steel Rod is usually metric threaded steel rod.  In ISO898 standard, except grade 8.8 threaded rod, there are also grade 10.9 threaded rod and grade 12.9 threaded rod.
