Auto steel – steel bar for Camshaft. Camshaft is used in internal combustion engines. Camshafts in automobiles are usually made from steel or cast iron. Here, we mainly introduce the auto steel materials to produce automobiles camshafts.

Camshaft steel material steel bar requires:

• Good tension strength

• High hardness on surface and long life

• High mechanical strength

• Not easy to break and stable quality

•  Carbon Steel Bar for camshaft steel materials:

45# steel bar, aisi sae astm 1045 steel bar, c45 steel bar, s45c steel bar, en8 steel bar

50# steel bar, aisi sae astm 1050 steel bar, c50 steel bar, s50c steel bar, en9 steel bar

Above materials are used for induction hardened camshafts. These materials hardening depth is not so good.

  • Gear steel bar

20CrMnTih, 20MnCr5h carburizing and quenching steel bar to produce camshaft with hardness from 58hrc - 62hrc on surface.

• Alloy steel bar

EN351 steel bar, EN34 steel bar, aisi 8620 steel bar, sae 8620 steel bar, astm 8620 steel bar, 18CrNiMo4 steel bar, 20CrNiMo steel bar

Steel materials fit for camshafts running against a chilled cam follower.

• Nitriding steel bar

EN40B steel bar, 722M24 steel bar, 32CrMo12 steel bar, 30cd12 steel bar, 1.7361 steel bar. After nitriding, the surface hardness and finish is similar to chilled iron.
